Privacy policy
We process personal data only where it is necessary to operate this website and to answer your enquiries. This website sets no cookies, embeds no tracking services and loads no fonts from third-party servers; for cookieless audience measurement we use Umami (see below). The videos, too, are served from our own server.

Visiting the site (server logs)
When you open the website your browser transmits technically necessary data which our web server records: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, referrer and browser identification.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation. These logs are not combined with other data sources and are deleted regularly.
Audience measurement (Umami)
To see which pages are read, we use Umami, an open-source web analytics tool. It runs on a server of IT-Trail GmbH (umami.ittrail.cloud) and is loaded from there when you open a page. Umami sets no cookies and builds no cross-site profiles.
It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and the approximate location derived from the IP address (country, region, city). The IP address itself is not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in evaluating the use of this website in aggregated form.
Processing on our behalf
The web server, contact form, e-mail mailbox and audience measurement of this website are operated on our behalf by IT-Trail GmbH, Schärdinger Straße 15, 4061 Pasching, Austria. The servers are located in a data centre of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. This is governed by a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.
Contact form
When you submit the contact form, the details you entered — name, email address, optionally phone number and company, subject and message — are transmitted to our form service at submit.soundmasking.at and delivered to us by email.
To protect against automated submissions we use ALTCHA. It runs as a computational puzzle in your browser, sets no cookies and builds no user profile.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We keep your enquiry for as long as it takes to handle it, and beyond that only where statutory retention obligations apply.
Fonts
All fonts are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider, and no data is transferred to third parties in the process.
Videos
The videos on this website are served from our own server. Playing them makes no connection to YouTube, Google or any other third party. A video is only loaded once it scrolls into view, and those requests are recorded in the server logs described above like any other page request.
Below each video we also link to the same film on our YouTube channel. Data is only transmitted to Google Ireland Limited once you click such a link, at which point Google’s privacy policy applies (policies.google.com/privacy).
Links to app stores and partner sites
This website links to the Apple App Store, Google Play, our YouTube channel, and to aiga.at, ittrail.at and markusfurtlehner.at. Data is only transmitted to those providers once you click such a link, at which point their privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Please contact office@soundmasking.at.
If you believe the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at).
